Last year, Norwegian flew one weekly flight on the Copenhagen-Sarajevo route. However, at the same time, WizzAir flew 3 weekly flights to Copenhagen, 3 flights to Malmo (40 minutes away), and 2 to Billund (2:45 minutes away). At the same time, Sarajevo had 9 weekly flights to Copenhagen and the surrounding area.
However, this year there are no more flights from WizzAir, which closed its base, and Norwegian also stopped flights to Copenhagen. It’s really strange. The diaspora from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is really big in Denmark. Therefore, the line to Copenhagen has been operated for many years and it is very much needed in Sarajevo. Sarajevo should make an effort to restore these flights either through Norwegian or SAS.
Norwegian will fly to Sarajevo with two flights to Oslo and one weekly flight to Stockholm. Unfortunately, Sarajevo did not cover the lack of WizzAir flights with other carriers, so we do not have the increase of Norwegian, Eurowings, Air Serbia, and other companies that we really expected, Zaamero writes.
