After the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, said that a long-term solution to the accumulated problems faced by public broadcasters in our country is expected when the managements of both public broadcasters, FTV and BHRT, are staffed by people who work the way policies of the Troika (coalition of three parties) ask them, numerous reactions followed. And in all of them, there is a warning about the clearly stated intention and goal: putting public broadcasters in our country under political control.
These are warnings from the academic community, journalists, activists, and politicians.
“I have been saying for a long time that the authoritarianism of Orban and Vučić is the real ideal of the relevant part of the troika structures. They dream of a dictatorship while they say that they are ‘taking us to Europe,'” is the opinion of Vahidin Preljević, a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy at UNS.
“When Aleksandar Konaković and Almedin Vučić meet”, journalist and columnist Dragan Bursać wrote.
“Now look at what the regime is and what the regime’s media are. Watch how Bosnia turns into Vučić’s Serbia, because he is talking about changing the system. Admittedly, that’s how we chose – even if it was worse – right?”, asks Adnan Ibrahimović, professor at the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Construction of the UNTZ.
“Now I could write, imagine if this was said by the president of a party that does not belong to the Troika, however, it is already worn out. Fans of the Troika can easily imagine that, and they don’t care, because they didn’t even want changes, they wanted to get hold of power and steal, employ and threaten,” said Albin Zuhrić, a delegate in the House of Peoples of FBiH (DF).
During the day, Elmedin Konaković also commented. He states that the politicians of NiP and the Troika are independent media and that attempts to twist his statement are sick. And we remind Minister Konaković that public services have been without stable funding for two months, which is why BHRT and Radio-television to the Federation have been damaged for 90,000 marks, that the contract with Elektroprivreda has not been signed because the general director of BHRT, Belmin Karamehmedović, refuses to sign the Annex to the contract on the collection of RTV tax , and the same Annex Federal Television has already signed.
In addition to this, we remind Minister Konaković of his statement, which he denies, which talks about the way he sees the functioning of public services and their financing.
“We expect a long-term solution when the managements of both public broadcasters – both FTV and BHRT – will have people who work the way Troika politicians ask them to,” Konaković said.
