Yesterday in the Administration Building of Konzum BiH in Sarajevo were held two meetings between representatives of Konzum BiH, the Business System Mercator, and suppliers of Konzum. The meeting was attended by Tomislav Bagic, director of Konzum BiH, Tomislav Primorac, director of trading of Konzum BiH, Tomislav Cizmic, Chairman of the Board of the Business System Mercator, and Igor Maros, Assistant of Chairman of the Board of the Business System Mercator for strategic projects as well as representatives of more than 60 suppliers.
These meetings were held with the aim of continuation of an open dialogue, and main topics discussed at the meeting were primarily the presentation of the plan of reintroduction of Mercator on the market of BiH.
At these meetings was presented a new concept of future business of retail in BiH, which envisages the re-introduction of the brand Mercator on the market of BiH. It was noted that it is still a proposal since the formal decision on its implementation is still expected. At this phase, the potential for the successful return of Mercator on the market of BiH was recognized on the basis of large positive values of this brand. The strength of Mercator’s brand is built on the basis of previous positive experiences regarding the overall operations of Mercator in BiH, a successful cooperation with suppliers and experiences with Mercator as a responsible employer, and on the basis of a modern, high-quality concept of trade that Mercator develops.
It is important to emphasize that this concept envisages take over of all obligations of Konzum BiH from its suppliers, as well as taking care of all employees of Konzum BiH. Bringing back of the Mercator will bring additional stability of business operations and security of workplaces, as well as a responsible meeting of all obligations towards suppliers and government institutions.
Neven Hadzisulejmanovic, director of Nelt, a company that is one of Konzum’s suppliers, stated: “At the meeting was presented that business operations of Konzum will be replaced on the brand Mercator, which gives security for further business operations to us suppliers, and we will agree all the details regarding the further cooperation on direct bilateral meetings that will take place very soon.”
