oggiThe documentary film – Finding Family by Oggi Tomić is nominated for the prestigious award in the category of new talents from the region of Scotland.

“The nomination for the prestigious BAFTA award means a lot to me. To be honest, I never thought that my film will have this result, especially when I recall the year 2012 when we started shooting the film. Our wish back then was to show this film to the Sarajevo audience”, said Oggi Tomić for Radiosarajevo.ba.

That happened and the premiere of this film at the SFF was accompanied by tears. The film Finding Family of the co-author Chris Leslie is Oggi’s personal story through which he is trying to find his roots and his mother who left him 28 years ago in the home for abandoned children Drin in Fojnica.

After the Sarajevo premiere, the film continues with the festival success and was shown at the Balkan Florence Express Film Festival in Italy, then at the Raindance Film Festival in Pakistan. The next premiere of the film will be shown in Edinburgh.

The BAFTA prize award will take place on 25 March in Glasgow.
