Oil Prices on the rise

Oil prices on the world market are rising today in anticipation of a decision by OPEC and their allies on an agreement for delivery in the second quarter.

In London, the price of Brent crude oil from the North Sea is higher by 1.43 dollars or 1.75 percent and is now 83.34 dollars per barrel.

In New York, the price of light crude oil rose by $1.54, or 1.97 percent, to $79.80 per barrel.

Some sources state that the decision on extending the reduction in daily production by OPEC and their allies is expected in the first week of March and that it is also expected that the members will announce their decisions individually.

“Adherence to the voluntary reduction of oil production until the end of the year would be a strong indicator and that is why it is considered positive for prices. An extension only in the second quarter would not affect prices that much,” said market analyst from Komercbanka Karsten Friš.
