Ombudsman BiH Receives the Largest Number of Complaints

RS nationa assemblyDuring the last year Ombudsman BiH received the largest number of complaints for the violations of civil and political rights. 1. 790 out of 2. 966 complaints received in 2015 were related to the violations of civil and political rights.

Annual report on the results of activities of the Institution Ombudsman for the Civil Rights in 2015 was presented in National Assembly RS, and the largest number of complaints is related to the violations of civil and political rights.

Beside civil and political rights, other complaints were related to violations of economic, social and cultural rights- 698, all forms of discrimination- 159, violation of children’s rights- 148, the rights of detainees and prisoners- 108, violations of the rights of persons with disabilities- 53 and violations of the rights of national and religious minorities.

The RS President, Milorad Dodik, pardoned five convicts in 2015. He pardoned Jadranko Balać from Prijedor who was sentenced to one year in prison for the crime of fraud.

Dodik also pardoned Hajro Mulić from Sarajevo, Kadrija Mujić and Ibro Mujić from Srebrenica, who were sentenced to three months in prison for the criminal offense of forest theft. Their sentences were replaced by probation for a period of two years.

A financial penalty of 1.000 BAM remained the same and it must be paid with a year.

Vladimir Ilisić from Banja Luka was released from the guilt. He was sentenced to pay 500 BAM for the criminal offense of attempted robbery.

Out of 34 petitions for pardon that came to the President of RS in 2015, 29 convicts were refused to be pardoned.
