austrian flagThe Austrian Institute was officially opened in Sarajevo yesterday. It is one more proof of the close relationship between the two countries, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Republic of Austria.

The Austrian Institute Sarajevo, as one of the nine in the world, is a branch of the Austrian Institute founded by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997, with the aim of informing other countries about cultural heritage, current events and the development of cultural life in Austria. In addition to many representatives of the diplomatic core, cultural and political workers, the opening was attended by the leading personality of the Austrian foreign policy in the field of culture, Director General of the Section for Culture of the Federal Ministry for Europe, integration and foreign affairs, Ambassador Dr. Teresa Indjein, Austrian Ambassador in BiH Martin Pammer, Director General of the Network of Austrian Institutes with headquarters in Vienna Dr. Katarina Korner, and the Director of the Austrian Institute Sarajevo Mrs. Maida Bećarević.
