OSCE: Promoting Vertical Communication and Coordination in Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK)

The OSCE Mission to BiH, in cooperation with the ZDK is organizing in Zenica today a meeting on promoting vertical communication and coordination between cantonal and local levels of government.

The Prime Minister, cabinet members and mayors of municipalities in the ZDK will attend the meeting. This will be an opportunity for them to talk about improving mutual cooperation and ways in which to making communication more efficient.

The OSCE Mission works with cantonal assemblies and governments, as well as with local institutions, in an effort to improve their capacity and to increase their accountability to citizens at a higher level. Their mutual cooperation is crucial in the efforts to improve the functioning of democratic government.

Fikret Plevljak, the Prime Minister of ZDK and Luca Lietaer, the Deputy Director of the department of Human Dimension at the OSCE Mission will give introductory speeches.

The meeting will begin at 10:00 in hotel “Dubrovnik”.
