Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani signed the Charter of the Peace Council in Davos on Thursday, on behalf of Kosovo, as a founding and equal member, alongside the United States.

She described the signing of the Charter of the Peace Council in Davos as a historic act for Kosovo, noting that the agreement will be submitted to the Assembly of Kosovo for ratification for final approval, Kosovo Online reports.

“When America leads, peace is always more secure. Membership in international peace organizations led by our strategic ally strengthens our sovereignty, our international position and is in the highest interest of the Republic of Kosovo. Therefore, this historic agreement, in accordance with the Constitution of Kosovo, will be submitted to the Assembly of Kosovo for ratification for final approval by the people’s representatives,” Osmani said in a Facebook post.

The President of Kosovo expressed her gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his leadership and for the invitation to represent Kosovo at what she described as a historic moment.

“Kosovo will be in the service of peace, today and forever,” said Osmani.
