Brigadier General Uberto Incisa di Camerana of the Italian Armed Forces officially assumed the position of Deputy Commander of EUFOR at Camp Butmir today.
After an impressive career during which he served in numerous international operations, Brigadier General Incisa di Camerana now joins the EUFOR Command Group alongside the EUFOR Commander, Major General Florin Mariano Barbu, and the EUFOR Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Herbert Sailer.
He takes over the position previously held by Brigadier General Lorenzo Dal Maso of the Italian Armed Forces.
During his address, the EUFOR Commander, Major General Barbu, expressed his gratitude to Brigadier General Dal Maso for his dedicated service, strategic vision and great operational expertise.
Major General Barbu warmly welcomed Brigadier General Incisa di Camerana to his new position, emphasizing his extensive experience and the importance of his position in the EUFOR leadership team. “Brigadier General Incisa di Camerana, your extensive military experience, especially in KFOR, makes you particularly qualified for this important position.”
In his farewell speech, Brigadier General Dal Maso thanked the EUFOR leadership and the Operational Command for their support. He highlighted key achievements during his thirteen-month mandate. He expressed his gratitude to his partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I would like to express my warmest thanks to all my main interlocutors, especially the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, together with their political representatives. Our cooperation is built on mutual respect and commitment to a common goal.”
The new Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Incisa di Camerana, said he was honoured and grateful for his new appointment. He also thanked Brigadier General Dal Maso and his team for the support they had provided him over the past two months.
“With the help of the EUFOR headquarters and soldiers, together with NATO, international partners and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we will successfully contribute to the further stabilization and prosperity of BiH and resolutely continue on the path of a successful European perspective for the entire Western Balkans region,” he said.
By establishing the position of Deputy Commander, EUFOR has strengthened its commitment to improving its operational capabilities in support of Bosnia and Herzegovina. EUFOR remains a steadfast, capable and reliable partner in maintaining a safe and stable environment for all citizens of BiH, EUFOR said.
