Republika Srpska (RS) Minister of Health and Social Welfare Alen Seranic announced the latest information on the epidemiological situation in the entity of RS on Monday morning, Klix.ba news portal reports.

In the last 24 hours, 263 samples were tested in the Institute of Public Health, four of which were positive.  These are three women and one man, one each from Banja Luka, Trebinje, Prijedor and Eastern Ilidza.

These are contacts of previously infected persons. Seranic said they regularly tested health care workers and also tested people from one of the nursing homes.

A total of 107 coronavirus positive patients were hospitalized, of which 47 confirmed a more severe clinical picture.  Seven people are in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, another 13 people in the RS have recovered, and now the total number of people recovered in BiH is 206. Minister Seranic also spoke about when someone is said to have died of coronavirus and how it is determined. “There are three definitions, however, for someone to be said to have died of coronavirus, the former must have had lung damage, that is, one respiratory failure that led to death with associated causes that may result,” Seranic explained.

Currently, 1,018 people are coronavirus positive in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 206 recovered and 39 deceased.
