Over 100,000 Tourist Arrivals in BiH in September

In September 2021, there were 104, 079 tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Hercegovina which represent a decrease by 30.6% as compared to August 2021 and an increase by 88.4% as compared to September 2020. Tourists realized 236 876 tourist overnight stays whrepresentssent the decrease by 37.4% as compared to August 2021 and increase by 67.4% as compared to September 2020. Domestic tourists sharea of total number of overnight stays was 42.7% and foreign tourists share was 57.3%.

Concerning the structure of foreign overnight stays in September 2021, the most of them (53.8%) were realised by tourists from: Serbia (11.2%), Saudi Arabia (10.9%), Croatia (8.4%), Germany (6.6%), Kuwait (6.5%), Turkey (5.4%) and United Arab Emirates (4.8%). Tourists from other countries realised 46.2% of tourist overnight stays.

Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays in our country on the first place comes: Finland with an average stay by 4.2 nights, China 3.9 nights, Qatar with 3.8 nights, Kuwait with 3.7 nights, Bahrain with 3.6 nights, and the United Arab Emirates with 3.3 nights

Available rooms, apartments and camping sites for tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in September 2021 amounted to 18 372 which is 11.1% increase compared to September 2020. Number of available beds was 40,061 beds, which is increase by 12.8%, compared to the same month of 2020.

In September 2021, in the activity – Hotels and similar accommodation, number of rooms and apartments available to tourists amounted to 16 585, which is an increase of 9.9% compared to September 2020, and number of available beds amounted to 34,432 which is an increase of 11.1%, compared to the same month of the previous year.

Net occupancy rate of rooms was 26.5% and permanent beds it was 21.3% in September 2021 , while in August 2020, net occupancy rate of rooms was 17.4% and of permanent beds 14.2%.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the highest number of nights was recorded in hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 93.0%
