Over 500 Passengers Travelled on Sarajevo – Ploce Train in First Two Weekends of Seasonal Service

According to initial data, in the first two weekends since the introduction of the international passenger line Sarajevo – Ploče, around 500 passengers who purchased return tickets were transported by the Sarajevo – Ploče train.

The international seasonal passenger train Sarajevo-Ploče-Sarajevo began operating on June 27 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

As Fena news agency was told by the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the data on 500 sold return tickets was drawn based on lists forwarded to the Croatian Railways – Passenger Transport and the Border Police of the Republic of Croatia, in order to speed up customs procedures when crossing the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

They also state that the submitted data is not final until the Revenue Control Sector reviews and records all tickets, which is the data they receive in the middle of the month for the previous month.

“This means that the exact number of passengers transported is certainly greater than 500, but at this moment that figure is approximately 500 passengers,” said the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They also pointed out that no problems were recorded in the functioning of the Sarajevo – Ploče line.

The Sarajevo-Ploče-Sarajevo train will run until August 31, 2025.

“This line is in great demand and we expect that this season will be as successful as last year,” the Railways of the Federation of BiH point out.
