Over 760 Thousand Tourists visited BiH

767,675 tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period January-July 2022, which is 64 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

In the period January – July 2022, tourists made 1,697,932 overnight stays, which is an annual increase of 52.8 percent.

The number of overnight stays by domestic tourists is higher by 13 percent, while the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists is higher by 96.8 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

In the total number of overnight stays, the participation of domestic tourists is 38.8 percent, while the participation of foreign tourists is 61.2 percent.

In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were achieved by tourists from Serbia (16.7 percent), Croatia (14.8 percent), Slovenia (5.7 percent), Germany (5.1 percent), the United Arab Emirates (5.0 percent), Turkey (4.9 percent) and Saudi Arabia (4.5 percent), which is a total of 56.7 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 43.3 percent of overnight stays, according to data from the BiH Statistics Agency.

Regarding the length of stay of foreign tourists in our country, guests from Kuwait are in first place with an average stay of 3.6 nights, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 3.0 nights, France and Ireland with 2.9 nights each, and Qatar with 2 ,8 nights.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was realized within the Hotels and similar accommodation sector with a share of 93.5 percent

In July 2022 alone, 173,190 tourist visits were registered in BiH, which is 24.8 percent more compared to June 2022 and 29.5 percent more compared to July 2021.

Tourists spent 402,258 overnight stays, which is 33.4 percent more compared to June 2022 and 17.9 percent more compared to July 2021.
