Over Fifty Six Thousand Tourists visited Sarajevo in May

In May, Sarajevo was visited by 56,499 tourists who realized 91,606 overnight stays. The report states that the total number of foreigners in May was 50,190, and 6,309 domestic tourists.

In the first five months of this year, the number of tourists in Sarajevo Canton increased by 9.8 percent year-on-year, while the number of overnight stays increased by 10.9 percent year-on-year.

The largest number of tourists who visited Sarajevo was from China, 9,684, Croatia 3,535, Slovenia 3,125, the United States 3,017 and Germany 2,826.

In May, Sarajevo was visited by tourists from more than 60 countries. Tourism in BiH is a fast-growing sector and an important part of the country’s economy. In recent years, BiH has seen stable growth in the number of foreign tourists.
