Palestinians have begun evacuating the main hospital in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, according to footage released by medical workers. Weeks of heavy fighting isolated the medical facility and claimed the lives of several people inside.

Khan Younis is the main target of a major offensive that Israel says will soon be extended to Gaza’s southernmost city, Rafah. About 1.4 million people – more than half of the territory’s population – are crammed into tent settlements and overcrowded buildings and shelters in this city on the Egyptian border.
