Parties of Three request Meeting with Quint Ministers on Situation in BiH

Troika representatives will soon meet with the ministers of the Quinte countries, in order to express a unified opinion and react to the open threats to Bosnia and Herzegovina coming from Russia. In a letter to the Quinte ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, warns what these threats mean for the stability of the region. This is preceded by a final decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the removal of Milorad Dodik’s mandate. What will the Quinte countries do?

The announced meeting with the Quinte countries, which should take place in the next seven days, is part of regular activities, according to the Troika.

“We had a Troika consultation meeting yesterday and we thought it would be a good thing to sit down with the Quinte, to inform them about some things, about our view of this current situation,” said Predrag Kojović from the Our Party.

The USA, Great Britain, Italy, France, Germany, the countries that make up the majority of the members of the Peace Implementation Council, gathered in the Quinte, will discuss important political issues and problems of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming days. Their steps could be of importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“It depends on whether they want to do it, so far they haven’t wanted to and they’ve mostly stuck to letting us come to an agreement ourselves, as they say. I want to point out that Russia can’t do anything about it, that’s an empty statement considering that Russia doesn’t have any infrastructure to implement its announcements, statements, threats, I don’t know what to call them. It’s simply something that’s just meant to raise the political atmosphere but has no effect,” says international relations professor Zlatko Hadžidedić.

The Troika parties are looking at the current situation through possible negotiations with the opposition from Republika Srpska. They are also announcing a meeting at the end of August. If an agreement is reached, Kojović explains, this will be manifested by the adoption of the two remaining European laws at the first session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, the election of the chief negotiator and the adoption of the Growth Plan.

“I think that at this very moment, through this cooperation with the opposition from Republika Srpska, an alliance can be created that will once and for all stop wasting energy on internal conflicts, arguments and quarrels and focus that energy on what the troika from the Federation and the troika from Republika Srpska completely agree on, and that is the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, accelerated,” says Kojović.

It is good for Bosnia and Herzegovina that the members of the Quint take a stand and coordinate their activities, claims analyst Dušan Janjić.

“The Quint group is the one that is politically, not the courts, not the prosecutor’s offices, not the police, not the High Representative, it is the guarantor of peace and security,” emphasizes Janjić.

We remind you that the decision of the BiH Central Election Commission to strip Milorad Dodik of his mandate and the final court verdict are not agreed with by the Russian Embassy, which has sent worrying messages to Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the same reason, the RS National Assembly will consider calling a referendum at a special session. Troika issued a statement on the occasion stating that this is a criminal act against the constitutional order.
