hospitalThe health care sector in BiH is facing certain problems.

Among the problems are lack of financial resources, insufficient infrastructure and the lack of medical personnel for treatment of certain serious diseases.

However, many people still do not know that since the 2014, the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of FBiH along with the Ministry of Health of FBiH, addopted Regulations on sending insured persons for medical treatment abroad.

Patients from BiH have right on free treatment of 10 diseases in clinics abroad, noting that the Institute will bear all costs in this kind of cases, including transportation costs and costs of a companion, as previously emphasized by deputy director of the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of the FBiH, Nedzad Redzep.

Most of these institutions are located in Turkey, and one of them is the Memorial Health Group in Istanbul, where patients from the FBiH have the treatment of the following diseases:

  1. Stenting, coiling and embolization of blood vessels (treatment of brain aneurysms)
  2. Coronary angiography
  3. Stenting of blood vessels
  4. Eye tumors
  5. Organ transplantation

– Liver transplantation (from a living donor)

– Kidney transplantation (from a living donor)

– Bone marrow transplantation (for patients older than 16)

  1. Electrophysiological tests
  2. RF Ablation
