People of Pakistan Continue Helping Bosnians Affected by Floods

pakistan helpAmbassador of BiH in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Nedim Makarević sent a 20 thousand Dollar check to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH (MFA) from renown non-government foundation Al-Khidmat as assistance after recent floods that hit BiH.

Ambassador Makarević reacted after July floods and informed the public of this friendly state about disaster that hit BiH and this Pakistani Foundation, which is situated in Peshawar and led by Prof. dr. Hafeez Ur Rehman, paid a visit soon after, and Prof. dr. Hafeez Ur Rehman emphasized he appreciates the character and work of the first chairman of the BiH Presidency Alija Izetbegović.

Makarević thanked Dr Hafeez for assistance and emphasized that funds will be transferred to the bank account of BiH MFA.

Ambassador of BiH to Pakistan will continue informing government circles and non-government sector on damage proportions after floods that hit BiH.

This is not the first time that Ambassador Makarević has helped the citizens of BiH.

After the first floods in May, the BiH diplomat organized in a very short period for a plane to deliver 14 tons of humanitarian aid worth several million BAM from Islamabad to BiH.

Nedim Makarević was born in Doboj, he graduated electrical engineering in Germany, PhD. He established a company AIRNET Group situated in Frankfurt, which has been successfully operating in countries of Western Europe and the USA.

He has also been working with BiH diaspora mostly working with “Deutsche Islam Konferenz” in Berlin and he was also president of the Islamic Community of Germany.

He was nominated Ambassador of BiH in Pakistan in May 2013.
