Head of EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sørensen visited in Zenica, accompanied by 18 ambassadors of EU member states in BiH.
In Zenica he met with representatives of local authorities, because they also have duties in relation to European integration.
He recalled that a laboratory for testing the quality of the wood is situated in Zenica, which is supported by the EU.
“We helped with 400.000 EUR to achieve something like this so that BiH has the ability to test and certify its products. If you can export, you can be competitive in the European market,” said Sørensen.
He also added that the Zenica-Doboj Canton produces 24 percent of BiH exports, and that fact contributes to the idea that the corridor 5C will soon be completed, in order to make this part of BiH more accessible and open for new investment.
During a visit to the University of Zenica, Sørensen said that BiH has capable young people, and they need to be trained so that they could lead BiH into prosperity. Sørensen also added that Zenica, along with the entire country, is on the path to EU.
