PosterEmbassy of Japan in B&H organizes photography exhibition ‘’Kumamoto Art Polis: Architecture Through Communication’’ at the City Gallery Collegium Artisticum, Sarajevo.

Opening of the exhibition will take place on May 30, at 18:00hrs. H.E. Hideo YAMAZAKI, Ambassador of Japan to B&H will open the event.  The exhibition runs until May 30 – June 9. Entrance is free.

‘’Kumamoto Art Polis: Architecture Through Communication’’ documents the revolutionary architectural movement in Japan to which local architects were deployed to reconstruct not only public buildings but also various private institutions – police stations, public toilets, municipal housing estates, bridges, high schools, country markets, museums, etc., taking an artistic, creative approach. Initiated by the governor Morihiro HOSOKAWA (1983-1991), who believed that culture is ultimately the only legacy of government, the project represented a fusion of the ‘new architecture’ and the regional art and history, serving to create ‘new culture’ and contribute to the development of an attractive region.

Media are cordially invited to attend the opening of the exhibition on May 30 at 18:00, City Gallery Collegium Artisticum.
