The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, met today at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of Sweden to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Helena Lagerlof, the Public Relations Office of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
The focus of the meeting was reform processes, with an emphasis on digitalization.
Ambassador Lagerlof expressed Sweden’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Euro-Atlantic path and reforms. She also emphasized the importance of digital transformation as one of the key segments in the European integration process of our country. In this context, she emphasized the interest of the private sector in investing in digital transformation projects, which includes the development of e-government, modernization of public services and telecommunications infrastructure. She recalled that digital harmonization as an important issue on the path to the EU was one of the topics of the Western Balkans Summit in December last year.
Prime Minister Nikšić thanked Sweden for its continued support for Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially when it comes to the European integration process, the implementation of reforms and the strengthening of economic cooperation. He emphasized the commitment of the Government of the Federation of BiH to the development of digital transformation and e-government as one of the key elements of the modernization of the public sector.
He particularly emphasized the importance of including international experiences and expertise in this process and the openness of the Government of the Federation of BiH to cooperation with relevant partners who can contribute to the improvement of digital capacities, transparency of public services and more efficient functioning of the administration.
The interlocutors agreed that all processes within the framework of digital transformation should be carried out in accordance with the principles of full transparency and public competition, especially when it comes to public procurement procedures. They also expressed their readiness to continue mutual cooperation, with a common assessment that the traditionally good relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden provide a solid basis for further strengthening partnership relations.
