President of the Government of the Republika Srpska (RS), Zeljka Cvijanovic, said that after putting into operation of a new transformer station whose construction amounted to 4.6 million BAM, Sipovo is now better positioned on the electric energy map of the RS and that this investment will contribute to the further development of the economy of this region.

“We need to understand that this is only one of the things that need to be realized in the upcoming period since a lot of investments are waiting to be realized as well. The fact that the value of this investment is around 4.6 million BAM shows the strength of this company and especially if we consider that about 50 million BAM of investments by Elektroprenos BiH were realized in the RS in the last three years only,” stated PM Cvijanovic.

She also noted that realization of 81 million BAM worth projects is taking place all over BiH and that more of them are expected in the next period as well.

Director of Elektroprenos BiH Mato Zaric said that there was no dual power supply or sufficient electric power supply in Sipovo, and they made a decision to realize this transformer station three years ago.

“The station has a high quality and it enables further expansion of the industry,” added Zaric.

He announced the construction of transformer station “Banja Luka 10” next year, whose value amounts to 15 million BAM, as one of the most important projects of this company, since the center of the city is dealing with a problem of the lack of electricity.
