On the orders of the acting prosecutor, investigators of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior have deprived the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Muhamed Ajanović, and the Chief Educational Inspector of the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Dalila Hakalović, of their liberty.

Muhamed Ajanović is charged with committing the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trading in influence, while Dalila Hakalović is charged with committing the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, which both suspects undertook as co-perpetrators.

The investigation also includes the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of the Canton of Sarajevo, Adna Mesihović, and the Assistant Minister, Dženita Viteškić, who are charged with the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.

The subject of the investigation by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton relates to several actions taken by Muhamed Ajanović, together with Dalila Hakalović, Adna Mesihović and Dženita Viteškić, in order to secure an illegal extension of his mandate, then using his friendly ties with Mesihović, Viteškić and Hakalović to ensure through them the adoption of the necessary opinions and instructions by the Ministry, which enabled him not to announce a competition for the election of the dean and to remain in office, until the adoption of amendments to the Statute of the University of Sarajevo, which would allow him to hold new mandated functions as dean.
