Police in Dublin have seized heroin worth three million euros and arrested two men.
Police intercepted and searched a vehicle in the Coolock district and during that search found about 21 kilograms of heroin.
A man around 30 years old was arrested on the spot, while a second man, around 40 years old, was arrested at another location following further investigation.
The arrest followed an investigation into international gangs based in Dublin.
Assistant Commissioner for Organized and Serious Crime Angela Willis stated that heroin not only destroys people‘s lives but leaves a lasting impact on entire communities in Ireland and elsewhere.
“Preventing heroin trafficking remains a central focus of our work, and we will continue to target criminal organizations operating on a global level with the intent to affect the lives of ordinary people across this country,” emphasized Willis.
