In the last 24 hours, officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton did not find 101 persons who were sentenced to isolation, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

“Over the past 24 hours, police officers at the Police Directorate of the Sarajevo Canton Police have checked 1,121 addresses in order to check compliance with the imposed isolation measures, and on that occasion, 101 persons were not found at the given address of residence,” Mirza Hadziabdic confirmed.

Official records of violations have been made and submitted to the competent inspection body. Members of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo are working intensively to check compliance with this order, and the penalties for those who do not comply are from 100 to 2,000 BAM.

During Tuesday evening in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 37 persons were found violating the prohibition of movement between 6pm and 5am, and were issued misdemeanor warrants, imposing fines of 500 BAM each, N1 reports.

“This is a sign that the police will not tolerate non-compliance with the prohibition of movement, and that all those who behave irresponsibly at the time of the coronavirus pandemic in respect of not complying with the orders of the competent authorities and institutions will be sanctioned in accordance with the law,” the Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

On March 23rd, members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior issued three warrants to persons who were moving without a permit during the curfew.

According to Avaz news portal, malpractice citizens are fined 500 BAM each.

In the Sarajevo Canton area, it was noticeable that the prohibition of movement was being respected, as well as the increased presence of police officers of the Police Directorate of the Police of the Sarajevo Canton.

It should be reminded that the curfew in the Federation of BiH came into force yesterday at 6:00 pm and lasted until 5:00 am on Monday. So, the same will be in the coming days.

“In addition to misdemeanor warrants, Sarajevo police officers also issued an order to persons who violated the traffic ban to move immediately from public places to their homes,” Mirza Hadziabdic, a spokesman for Ministry of Internal Affairs told Avaz.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo once again urged the citizens to adhere to these measures and all instructions and orders of the competent authorities and institutions in the next days in order to prevent the spread of coronaviruses.
