The man who jumped from the Old Bridge in Mostar on January 31st in the evening, after which he did not resurface, is not a citizen of Malaysia, as Mostar police received the first information, but a citizen of the People’s Republic of China.

As the spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC), Ljudevit Maric, said, there was a misunderstanding during the first investigation, because a wallet with Malaysian documents was found, but during the investigation, it was determined that it was a 30-year-old TikToker from China, about which the Chinese embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was informed.

”That evening, he rented an apartment in Zivote Neimarovica Street, where his personal belongings were found, including his passport, laptop, and two mobile phones,” said Maric.

According to police information, the young man left his things immediately after arriving at the apartment, took a towel, and went to the Old Bridge where he jumped.

His tragic jump was recorded by citizens who shared the video on social media.

The police established that the young man had been staying in BiH for some time, and it became known that at the end of January, on several occasions, he caused shock and disbelief among the citizens of Sarajevo because he walked barefoot and only in shorts, with a rucksack on his back, in the snow on the streets of the capital. It was obviously all to film for TikTok.

The search for his body is still ongoing, and the diving team of the Mostar Intervention Rescue Service searched the Neretva under the Old Bridge over the past weekend without results, Klix.ba reports.
