At the Gradiska International Border Crossing on 13 December, the smuggling of 110 kilograms of the narcotic drug ‘skank’, intended for the European market, whose market value is estimated at around 250,000 euros, was prevented.

In the operational action of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina codenamed “Diablo”, carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the drug was detected with the help of specialist equipment in a in a car with Dutch license plates, driven by the citizen of Croatia.

The Croatian citizen was taken to the official premises of the BiH Border Police, after which he will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH for further proceedings.

Significant cooperation was established in the case with the State Investigation and Protection Agency, the BiH Border Police announced.

“Despite all the problems facing the BiH Border Police, starting with the fight against illegal migration and significantly reduced human and logistical resources, we are recording very good results. This is one in a series of successful operational actions in the fight against cross-border crime and this way I also thank the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the State Investigation and Protection Agency for their excellent cooperation, and I especially commend the work of the Central Border Police Investigation Office, the Department for Undercover Operations, on such a significant undertaking, “said Border Police Director Zoran Galic.
