received_1788844348018908Around 400 Mercedes marched through Siroki Brijeg, which the owners proudly drove and presented to the public.

Columns of cars impressed many visitors and media, representing the models from those from the distant 1929, to those that can be seen today in everyday traffic.

However, the red Mercedes “Ponton”, which president of the former Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, gave to the former President of the Yugoslav government Dzemal Bijedic, his current owner Nevenko Soldo from Siroki Brijeg does not want to sell to anyone.

“I knew this car before the war, when I was living in Sarajevo, and I found it in front of the police station in Hadzici. I immediately bought it, since I knew the owner. I brought him home and then followed the restoration. It was in poor condition because it was in Sarajevo during the entire war. Then I took it for the detail review, took off the parts and restore them. I worked on the restoration for 3 years, because it was difficult to find parts,” said Soldo.

This car is one of the most interesting ones on old-timer meetings and visitors often want to get photographed with it.

Regular visitor of old-timer meetings is Senad Huseini from Sarajevo, who proudly presented the oldest model of Mercedes SSK from 1929, with which he captures the attention and does not want to talk about the possibility to sell his favorite car.

Organizers did not hide their satisfaction and president of Mercedes Fan Club Herzegovina Petar Cerkez admitted that he wishes that this gathering becomes a tradition in Siroki Brijeg.

The meeting had international character and gathered the owners of cars with a silver star from all over BiH, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Germany and Switzerland.
