The casket with the body of Pope Francis was brought into St. Peter’s Basilica, where the faithful will be able to say goodbye to the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

The procession went through St. Martha’s Square, the Square of the First Martyrs of Rome and the Arch of Bells, and then entered the basilica through the central door.

The doors of the Basilica will be open from 11 am. A large number of believers will be able to approach the coffin.

The body of the head of the Roman Catholic Church is displayed in a casket, rather than on a high bier, which was the previous practice that Pope Francis changed last year.

The head of the Roman Catholic Church died on Monday, April 21, at the age of 89.

The Pope will be buried on Saturday, April 26 in the Basilica of Saint Mary the Great in Rome.
