houseDirector of the Fund for Flooded Areas in Territory of the Federation of BiH Jasmin Jaganjac met with Prime Minister of Government of Posavina Canton Marijan Oršolić and Municipal Mayor of Orašje Đuro Topić in Orašje and discussed initiative for reconstruction of dam of Sava and Bosna rivers, and Fund’s assistance in securing 500.000 BAM for construction of new houses in Posavina, Tuzla and Zenica-Doboj Canton respectively.

Government of the Federation of BiH adopted initiative on reconstruction of dam of rivers of Sava and Bosna, and official letter to the European Commission is in procedure, in order to secure funds for these purposes.

”So far consequences of the catastrophic floods have been removed and that process will continue, and it is time to start solving the cause, that is, to strengthen the dams. At least 25 million BAM is needed for reconstruction. We have been in coordination with the Agency for Sava River Waterway and they are suggesting increasing the amount by approximately seven million BAM, which is total of 32 million BAM. Namely, it is necessary to repair gutters and pumping stations as well,” said Jaganjac.

Director of the Fund emphasized he was going to Brussels on November 24, where a meeting will be held with representatives of donors. They will consider a project of repairing the dam of rivers of Sava and Bosna, and he expects it will be recognized as the priority.

”When it comes to restoration after the floods, we are doing everything within limited budget abilities, and I find the rehabilitation will take at least another two or three years. We also talked about other current topics related to repair of river dams, and how to solve this burning problem of Posavci,” said President of Government of Posavina Canton Oršolić, PR Office of FBiH Government said.
