Representatives of Centre for Development of Relations with BIH (BIHMEV) Selmo Cikotić and Almir Mukač visited Goražde yesterday.

Mission of BIGMEV as a centre for promotion of Bosnian-Turkish relations is the increase of investments from Turkey to BiH, increase of export from BiH to Turkey, establishing strategic cooperation based on principles of reciprocity, contribution to growth and development of BIH.

Also the goals are the development of sustainable relations between business worlds, development of activities in the field of culture, art and sport between BiH and Turkey and student exchange programs during and after studies, as well as strengthening relations between BiH citizens who live outside BiH. Cikotić noted that yesterday’s visit was organised in order to present business and other possibilities to Goražde, which is, economically a growing town with huge potentials.

‘This town deserves a chance and I believe that we’ve accomplished better understanding of cooperation possibilities in today’s information exchange and I believe that connections have the capacity to become concrete projects. The arrival of investors will depend on the concrete interest and if they recognise opportunities to gain profit, then they will most certainly come regardless of the project’, said Cikotić and added that other project should be made and an image should also be made in accordance with world trends.

‘We have excellent human resources and healthy environment and quality products. BIGMEV works for three years and has given good results, and now we intend to intensify BIGMEV’s presence in Goražde, Travnik and Bugojno because there was no BIGMEV in those towns, and those are areas of very large potentials’, added Cikotic. The Head of Municipality of Goražde Muhamed Ramović said that the Foundation is a huge success.

‘We see a chance for in cooperation with them so we will make a contribution and be available to all businessmen because we want to connect them with businessmen from Turkey. We already have some ongoing projects, but today’s visit has prompted us to have an even better cooperation and to host two dozen businessmen from Turkey in order to introduce our own economic resources and to open ourselves to Turkey’, said Ramović.

Short-term goals of BIGMEV, for the period of 2011-2014 year are the mutual organization of social and cultural activities, research funds and presenting business opportunities to investors, the creation of the base of social and economic data, strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit of BiH citizens, the establishment of the platform for the exchange of information between the public and private sectors, establishing lobbying centres in both countries and running mutual funds and coordination and organization of fairs.
