The Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial Center that commemorates the 1995 genocide victims, reacted to incident involving the passing of a convoy of vehicles with nationalistic iconography.

In its message, the memorial centre has called on the mayor of Srebrenica and the entire local community to finally gather strength and change their attitude, to finally condemn hate speech and ask the local police to take the necessary measures to apprehend and punish those responsible.

“Last but not the least, we will ask the Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Prosecutor’s Office to react and investigate the direct and indirect links between decision-makers in institutions and the financing of the activities of associations and informal groups that organize these ‘convoys of hate’ in Srebrenica,” stated the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial Center.

In the late Monday afternoon, a local convoy of vehicles, accompanied by loud music and nationalistic iconography, drove on a local road that runs between the sacral and memorial parts of the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial Center.
