Associates of the United States (U.S.) Vice President Kamala Harris have already started preparing for her presidential campaign after the chance that Joe Biden will give up the fight for a new term in the White House has significantly increased.
According to the American media, Harris is not yet formally participating in these preparations, bearing in mind that Biden has not officially given up the race.
Nevertheless, “behind her back” her team of closest associates is working to ensure that Harris replaces Biden at the Democratic National Convention, which will be held from August 19th to 22nd in Chicago.
As during most of Biden’s mandate, he was the focus, Kamala Harris’ associates believe that she must work on highlighting her achievements and prepare for a fight with other potential candidates in the Democratic Party.
Politico, citing five associates who have begun work on the project, says the point is not to “squeeze Biden out of the campaign,” but just “to be prepared for every option.”
The current president of the U.S., Joe Biden, could announce his withdrawal from the presidential race as early as this weekend, Axios claims.
