At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, details of the exhibition ‘Keys of Rome’ will be presented, which will open on 23 September in the renovated Vijećnica.
The exhibition in Sarajevo is organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in cooperation with the Museum of Sarajevo, National Museum of B&H and the City of Sarajevo, as well as the remaining 17 partners from the transnational networks of virtual museums.
The idea for the exhibition belongs to a transnational network of virtual museums, and will be open at the same time in Sarajevo, Amsterdam, Rome and Alexandria.
It will allow visitors to the museum to travel through time and visit these four places during the period of the Roman Empire, with the help of the latest advancements in virtual reality technology and exciting historical stories.
This year marks the 2.000-year anniversary since the death of the Roman Emperor Augustus, who could be considered the founder of the Roman Empire.
Objects from Roman villas and baths from Ilidža that are kept in the Museum of Sarajevo and B&H National Museum will be shown, and from the Roman basilica in Mostar.
Visitors will be able to virtually watch exhibits from the other three locations.
