Presidency of B&H reaches a Decision on Submission of Application for Membership

Konstituirajuća sjednica u ponedjeljak: Čović i Ivanić povratnici u zgradu Predsjedništva BiH, Izetbegović starosjediocThe Presidency of B&H yesterday reached a Decision on submission of application for membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Union, which will be submitted by the Chairman of the Presidency of B&H Dr. Dragan Čović to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Bert Koenders on February 15, 2016 in Brussels.

Presidency of B&H accepted February 24, 2016 as the date of official visit by the president of the Republic of Albania, Bujar Nishani, to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Presidency also accepted the initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of B&H for the initiation of the procedures of accession of B&H to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance – IHRA. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of B&H is in charge of sending a letter of intention to the secretary general of IHRA and the Government of Hungary, the country that chairs the IHRA currently, expressing readiness of B&H to launch the procedure of accession to IHRA. The Council of Ministers of B&H is obliged to do whatever necessary for quick fulfillment of all necessary conditions for obtaining the status of a full member of IHRA.

Furthermore, the Presidency also reached a Decision on extension of the mandate to a group of non-commissioned officers in the Resolute Support Mission in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. This Decision extends the participation of the group of non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of B&H in the Resolute Support Mission in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for two more rotations – mandate of one rotation is six months with a possibility of elongation up to one month.

The Presidency of B&H also reached a Decision on accepting the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of B&H and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic passports, as well as the decisions on accepting the Agreement on financing – Rural Community Development Program (RCDP) between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Fund for International Development, the Agreement on grant between the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the Regional Housing Programme – B&H-4 (2015).

Decision were also reached on launching the procedure for negotiations regarding conclusion of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of GB&H and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia on collocation of diplomatic-consular offices, the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of B&H and the Government of Montenegro on collocation of diplomatic-consular offices, the Arrangement on non-refundable aid from the ORIO program for the stage of implementation and the state of functioning and maintenance – Design and construction of sewerage network and waste water disposal plant in Bijeljina, between the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Developmental Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and B&H, and the Agreement on amendments to the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of B&H and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on employment of citizens of B&H in Slovenia.
