Presidency of BiH Sends Initiative to Nominate Donald Trump for Nobel Prize

“President Donald Trump, through his diplomatic engagement and personal authority, achieved results that left a significant mark on international relations and significantly contributed to the stabilization of numerous world crises”…

The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zeljka Cvijanovic, sent an initiative to the Presidency of BiH to nominate the President of the United States (U.S.), Donald Trump, for the Nobel Peace Prize.

In the explanation of this initiative, Cvijanovic emphasized that during his second mandate, President Donald Trump, through his diplomatic engagement and personal authority, achieved results that left a significant mark on international relations and significantly contributed to the stabilization of numerous world crises.

“Appreciating his efforts and achievements in the field of peace, I consider it justified and deserved that the Presidency of BiH make a decision to propose His Excellency President Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” it is stated in the initiative of a member of the state presidency.

She emphasized that Trump, in the short period since taking office as the 47th President of the U.S., through proactive action, contributed to stopping several armed conflicts and resolving serious security crises.

“The peace agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan, concluded in August at the White House, marked the end of the long-standing conflict in the South Caucasus and opened the perspective of a new era of regional cooperation and security.

Also, his engagement is visible in Asia, where precisely through the diplomatic efforts of the U.S. administration led by President Trump, the conflict between India and Pakistan, as well as between Thailand and Cambodia, was ended. The truce in Yemen, concluded in May of this year, made it possible to stop the escalation in the Red Sea region and create conditions for humanitarian activities.

Through the efforts of President Trump, in June of this year, with the signing of a peace agreement in Washington, the conflict between Rwanda and DR Congo was stopped, which testifies to the global character of the activities of the U.S. president in the interest of peace,” emphasized Cvijanovic.

She also stressed the “indispensable role” of Trump in efforts to achieve peace in Europe, as well as peace initiatives and an innovative approach in the Middle East, aimed at preventing wider escalation in the region through contacts with Israel, Iran, and Palestine, which contributed to strengthening the prospects for stability in one of the most security-challenging regions in the world.

The regular session of the Presidency of BiH is scheduled for Monday, August 25th, starting at 3 p.m.
