Prince William Reportedly Preparing to Revoke Meghan Markle’s Royal Title

Prince William reportedly plans to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their titles – “Her Royal Highness – His Royal Highness” when he inherits the British throne from King Charles III.

This information was confirmed by a source close to the royal family.

“Charles may agree to this, but William won’t,” the source said, reportedly referring to using the HRH title to promote Meghan’s products, including jam from her ‘As Ever’ lifestyle line,” Page Six reports.

The source claims Meghan is breaking an agreement with the late Queen Elizabeth II by using the HRH title for commercial purposes, despite an agreement that the titles would no longer be used after they stepped down from royal duties.

Suspicions were further heightened after Meghan brought a gift basket with homemade strawberry topping signed: “Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex” in a podcast interview with Jamie Kern Lim. The basket and its message were later featured in the podcast.

A friend of Prince William said Meghan was exploiting King Charles’ weakness by using the title: “He has completely lost control. It is clear that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have every intention of making his last years miserable. Her signing HRH shows how weak and powerless he is. There’s no way William will tolerate it, their titles will be stripped when he becomes king. There will be a way.”

Also, a source close to Meghan claims that she is not breaking the agreement because it was a personal gift.

“Harry and Meghan still formally have the HRH titles, but they have agreed not to use them for commercial purposes. Although they don’t use them publicly, it is a personal gift, and the titles still belong to them,” the source said.

A former member of the royal court told the Daily Beast that this was nonsense, and that the agreement to leave royal duties “made it clear that the HRH titles were not to be used, in any context.”

The official statement about the couple’s withdrawal from royal duties confirmed these claims: “The Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronage roles. Although they will no longer officially represent the Queen, the Sussexes have made it clear that everything they do will continue to respect Her Majesty’s values. The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working royals.”, Klix.ba writes.
