Oil-and-gasGovernment of FBiH has adopted a program of regional exploration of oil, condensate and natural gas in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period of 2014 to 2023 as a document of development of perspective research areas of oil and gas in the Federation.

Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry and the Federal Bureau of Geology is charged that, within 30 days, prepare an Action Plan for the implementation of research programs for the territory of the Dinarides.

Based on survey results, it is assumed that there are promising areas for oil and gas exploration in northern Bosnia (Orašje, Odžak and Tuzla pool), central Bosnia (Sarajevo-Zenica basin) and the southwestern and southern Bosnia and Herzegovina (Velika Kladusa-Glamoč- Dreinica-Stolac-Neum). These exploratory areas are separated so that they fit into two separate projects upstream: Dinarides Project (Velika Kladusa-Glamoč-Dreinica-Stolac-Neum and Sarajevo-Zenica basin) and Project northern Bosnia, stand out from the Government of the Federation.
