Protest of Citizens of Montenegro over Dodik’s Visit

A group of citizens gathered near the building of the Parliament of Montenegro in Podgorica, as a sign of protest against the arrival of Milorad Dodik, the president of the Republika Srpska.

As the portal Vijesti.me writes, Dodik greeted them with three fingers raised.

They carried banners: “Yes, Bosnia and Herzegovina is eternal”, “Putin’s followers are not welcome”, “for integral and indivisible BiH”, “Dodik is not the way to Europe”, “We do not want the Republika Serbia in Montenegro”, “Srebrenica is genocide” , “Štrpci 27.02.1993”, “Hands away from border changes”.

One of them, Tanja Pavičević, said that on this day people were killed in Štrpci, and with this act today, Montenegro is “killing them again”.

“That is the essence of this story and that is why we are here today. We do not support criminals, let’s see who does,” she said.

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, said after the meeting with Dodik that they had important discussions, writes the RTCG portal.

“We had very important conversations that we held. Besides being the president of the Parliament, I am also the president of NSD, and NSD and SNSD are sister parties. Both are Serbian parties, ours is supported by the Serbian people, and our relations are the best possible,” said Mandic.

He says that whoever respects Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot respect it without its equal entity Republika Srpska.

“We respect the RS because BiH does not exist without it. Montenegro respects BiH as a state. Peace is in equality and agreement, so today I conveyed messages of peace and togetherness,” said Mandić.

Dodik emphasized that he supports the European reforms implemented by Montenegro, and stressed that Republika Srpska is not a disruptive factor.

“We share certain values with the politics of Montenegro. We oppose any degradation of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Dodik.

He also said that he came to support Mandić and his political structure.
