A meeting of the delegation of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity Republika Srpska with Russian President Vladimir Putin was held in the Kremlin on Saturday, RTRS reported.

At the beginning of the meeting with the RS delegation, the Russian President said that he was confident that the partnership between Russia and Republika Srpska would continue to develop.

“Serbs and Russians have had close relations for centuries, and we are very pleased to see you in Moscow,” Putin said, RTRS reported.

The RS delegation consisted of RS President Siniša Karan, President of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik. In addition to Putin, the meeting was also attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ušakov.

The RS delegation previously attended the Victory Day parade on Red Square in Moscow, as well as a reception organized by Putin for foreign officials.

“Republika Srpska values the historical role of the Russian people in the victory over fascism and remains committed to cooperation, mutual respect and the preservation of traditional ties,” Milorad Dodik posted on the social network X.

Russia held its annual Victory Day military parade on Red Square today, marking the anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II.

The parade was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of several foreign countries, including Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith and Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar.

Ahead of the celebrations, Moscow announced a unilateral two-day ceasefire on May 8 and 9 and warned Ukraine of a “massive” missile response if the celebrations were disrupted.

Kiev later announced that it would respect the ceasefire, which begins at midnight on Tuesday.
