Russian President Vladimir Putin told BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik that the Russian Federation highly values the position of the Republika Srpska, which opposes the imposition of sanctions on Russia.

“Unfortunately, in the current conditions with BiH, we have certain difficulties with joining the sanctions, but we know your position and we highly appreciate it. Despite all the difficulties, relations continue and will develop, especially with those who want to maintain these relations. And as far as I know, “You are one of those people,” Putin said, RTRS reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, Putin greeted Dodik and said that they had developed good relations since he was the president of Republika Srpska.

Dodik said that the meeting with Putin was full of understanding and openness, that several topics were discussed, primarily political ones, such as Russia’s role as a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement.
