Judging by the results of the Agency for Food Safety gathered at the end of 2013, the quality of food in B&H is not inferior than in EU countries.
The Food Safety Agency continuously collects data on laboratory analysis in cooperation with relevant laboratories in B&H on the basis of which a common risk assessment for the health of consumers is being done. In 2013 in B&H, over 118 thousand analysis of food was done, of which 3,7 percent was not in accordance with the applicable regulations.
‘’When we compare this data with data in surrounding countries and in EU countries, which also work on risk assessments for food, we can say that the situation in terms of food safety in B&H is approximately the same as in those countries’’, said for RTV Slon Dalibor Vidačak, Spokesperson for the Agency for Food Safety in B&h.
The Food Safety Agency will participate in the making of 11 food regulations in 2014, and will work on improving the implementation of food regulations that are adopted in B&H.
