More than 150 families in need received a donation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The needy received a donation, a package worth one hundred marks with various necessities adapted to the spirit Eid al-Fitr, from the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Li Fan.

She and a multi-member delegation visited the Istiklal Mosque on the Islands in the Sarajevo Municipality of Novi Grad, where the award ceremony was held, which was organized in cooperation with the Majlis of the Islamic Community in Sarajevo, which, through the Office for Social Welfare, selected the individuals and families who received this humanitarian donation.

Ambassador Li sent sincere Ramadan greetings and best wishes to the gathered believers. She noted that China and Bosnia and Herzegovina have traditionally maintained friendly relations and that although the two countries are geographically distant, “our peoples have always been connected by heart and hand”.

“Ramadan is a time of joy, peace and blessings. There are more than 23 million Muslims living in China who are an integral part of the Chinese community. During this holy month, they also celebrate Ramadan with fasting, prayer and charitable deeds,” Ambassador Li told the gathering.

The Chinese Ambassador emphasized that both Chinese and Islamic cultures share a noble tradition of helping others and supporting those in need.
“For the third year in a row, the Chinese Embassy in BiH, in cooperation with the Islamic Community in BiH, is organizing a charity event during Ramadan to send the Ramadan blessings of the Chinese people to Muslims in BiH and convey the warmth and friendship of the Chinese people. The Embassy will continue to promote humanitarian projects to improve the well-being of the citizens of BiH and strengthen the foundations of friendship between our two countries,” said Li.

Ferid Ganić, Coordinator of the Social Welfare of the Majlis of Sarajevo, also briefly addressed the gathering, thanking them for the Embassy’s now established practice of helping vulnerable groups.
He particularly highlighted the fact that embassy representatives, led by the ambassador, personally came to share moments of happiness with families in need.
