Young artist from Poland Daria Wartarska works every day with the industrial glass- bottles and jars. She makes innovative and ecological objects for everyday use from old products. Using ready-made forms of objects, she gives them a completely new life. Technique allows her to avoid the cancellation of materials and the excessive use of energy. Wartarska makes her products with the “cold technique“, which implies cutting, polishing, grinding and adjustment. The result of such approach to work is creativity, and using of half-products leads to the innovative and original approach to the product design. Objects that Wartarska makes, such as jugs, glasses, cups, bowls or vases, are very qualitative products for everyday use, which carries the traces of the past, completely different function, which makes them attractive and suitable for the reflection about the role of the object.
Dari Wartarska is a graduate student on the Department for glass and ceramics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. He finished her studies specializing in glass.
