Record Number of COVID Positive Persons in Sarajevo

After analyzing 944 samples, collected from October 27 to 30, 363 newly infected people with coronavirus were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton.

237 people, or 65.28 percent, belong to the family clusters or contacts of previously ill people, and they are in self-isolation from before.

In the previous 24 hours, the recovery of 102 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is currently 2,992.

One person died and the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection increased to 120. On hospital treatment in the isolator ward of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi (103) and in the General Hospital “Prof.dr. Abdulah Nakas ”(29) are 132 people, six of whom use mechanical respirator support when breathing, while nine of them were released from hospitalization from those isolators during the past 24 hours.

To date, 8,784 infected persons have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, of whom 5,672 have recovered from COVID infection. From October 17 to 31, 4,421 self-insulations were ordered.

The Canton Sarajevo Public Health Institute appeals to the citizens to be responsible and follow the advice of health experts and competent institutions.
