Record Snowfall in Australia

In certain parts of Australia, more than half a meter of snow fell overnight between Friday and Saturday, bringing joy to children and delight to tourist agencies.

An official from the tourist organization for the resorts on Mount Buller and Stirling said that snow has been falling continuously for 24 hours.

“This is wonderful. The snow started falling yesterday and hasn’t stopped since. These are the best skiing conditions we’ve seen so far. The season got off to a very slow start last month, but this amount of snow is a real relief for the rest of the season,” emphasized David Clark yesterday.

In Falls Creek, in the northeastern part of the Australian state of Victoria, 45 centimeters of snow fell two days ago.

A cold front moving across South Australia towards Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland has brought rain, record-low temperatures, snow, and blizzards.

Meteorologists are forecasting more snow and blizzards, predicting that over 80 centimeters of snow will fall in the next seven days.
