The possibilities for participation of B&H institutions in the new Erasmus + program are presented today at the info session that was organized in the Rector’s office of the University of Sarajevo in cooperation with the National Tempus office in B&H and with the Executive Agency for Audiovisual Communication and Culture from Brussels.
Suad Muhibić, Head of the National Tempus Office in B&H, said that Erasmus + program as one of the most important EU programs in the field of education, refers to a period of seven years, from 2014-2020, with a total budget of more than 14 billion Euros for all the countries.
“B&H can participate in this program starting since this year and the participation in this program will be through a public call once a year. Institutions from B&H, Universities and other institutions of higher education may apply in some of the activities only as partners or as applicants”, emphasized Muhibić.
He says that the program has a number of activities and one of the most important is mobility. There are two segments integrated in it- a program for master studies and loan mobility which implies short visits of B&H students to the EU institutions, from two months to a year. This program is intended for the academic staff. Also, there is an activity that involves capacity-building programs as well.
“We except in a few months an agreement between B&H and European Commission to be signed, which will enable participation of B&H in the phase 2 of this program. Everything will be implemented by paying the entry ticket of 115.000 Euros”, he said.
The Rector of Sarajevo University, Muharem Avdispahić stressed that B&H is among countries that are not EU members and which has the longest experience of participation in the programs of support to higher education and research. B&H currently participates in 25 such projects.
