In Croatia, a red weather alert has been issued for the regions of Split and Knin due to thunderstorms, and for Dubrovnik due to heavy downpours accompanied by thunder, the possibility of flooding, and local hail.

“Orange warning for thunderstorms in the region of Gospić /mainly Lika/ – showers and thunderstorms in places, and along the Adriatic locally hail, rain in the regions of Knin, Split, Dubrovnik, Gospić and Osijek, urban and flash floods are possible,” the Headquarters of civil protection announced.

In the afternoon, a big storm hit the island of Brač. Residents of Milna reported that this place was flooded. The wind uprooted trees in the town of Selca, where there was also an interruption in the supply of electricity, reports the Index portal.

In the Split area, in addition to the rain, there is also a  problem of strong wind, which has caused some maritime lines to be interrupted.

A yellow weather alert is in effect for the rest of Croatia due to the possibility of thunderstorms.
