Referendum can bring into Question the Existence of the RS

13695824_1235219973195623_1541100439_nMembers of the organization “Victims and Witnesses of the Genocide” and the Movement “Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves” believe that the referendum on January 9 as the Day of Republika Srpska can only bring into question the existence of that entity.

“This is just another hypocrite attempt of taking down BiH, considering that by declaring the January 9 unconstitutional the Constitutional Court of BiH left a possibility for bodies of the RS to pick a date of marking the day of the entity Republika Srpska, which is a constitutional part of BiH, based on their authority but in accordance with the Constitution of BiH,” the organizations stated.

Members believe that the National Assembly of the RS skillfully avoids to mention that the so-called Republic of the Serb nation in BiH was envisaged as a federal unit of the now already nonexistent Federal Yugoslavia.

They invite the responsible bodies of the state and the international community to use the Bonn powers and nip in the bud any attempt of taking down the judiciary in BiH.

“This is an opportunity for BiH to finally start dealing with serious socioeconomic problems that led the citizens to the edge of existence,” concluded the organizations on the occasion of yesterday’s decision of the National Assembly of the RS on the organization of referendum on January 9 as the Day of RS.
